On 10th May 2025, Barrackpore College of Education organized a seminar designed to strengthen the scientific foundation of students. The program featured two important sessions: an Anatomy Seminar conducted by Dr. Shailen Bhattacharya, a senior officer of the Health Department, and a Microbiology Seminar delivered by Dr. Ranjan Kumar Bose.

Dr. Bhattacharya’s session emphasized the critical role of anatomy in understanding the structure of the human body and its direct application in physiotherapy practice. Drawing from his medical expertise and administrative experience, he also highlighted how government healthcare systems value physiotherapists as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

In the second session, Dr. Bose introduced students to the fundamentals of microbiology, focusing on microorganisms relevant to clinical practice, infection control, and patient safety. His talk helped students appreciate the importance of microbiology in maintaining hygiene protocols during physiotherapy sessions and hospital postings.

Together, these sessions gave students a well-rounded academic experience that went beyond textbooks. By learning directly from senior professionals in anatomy and microbiology, students gained deeper insight into how these subjects integrate into their future careers as physiotherapists. Events like this reinforce BCE’s mission of combining theory with real-world healthcare perspectives.
