On 30th January 2025, Barrackpore College of Education hosted an insightful seminar on Spinal Injury Management for BPT students. The session was led by Dr. M.S. Anwar (PT), Director of the Board of Studies at WBUHS and Principal of BIMLS, one of the leading physiotherapy institutions under the university.
Dr. Anwar shared his vast clinical and academic expertise, explaining how spinal injuries occur, the challenges they present in rehabilitation, and the role of physiotherapists in patient recovery. His lecture highlighted the importance of proper assessment, evidence-based therapy, and long-term patient support in spinal injury cases.
The seminar gave students the chance to learn about real-world case approaches and how physiotherapists contribute as vital members of the healthcare team. Dr. Anwar also discussed current advancements in physiotherapy techniques for spinal care, encouraging students to adopt modern, research-driven practices in their future work.
Having a respected figure like Dr. Anwar on campus was an invaluable opportunity for students. His presence not only strengthened their academic understanding but also reassured them about the credibility and recognition of BCE’s physiotherapy program, being closely guided by WBUHS leadership.
